For the past year, I have had the honor of serving as your Dean, and I am deeply thankful for the guidance and unwavering support I have received from alumni. With your help, we are building on the College’s reputation of excellence and stand poised to shape the future of liberal arts education.
The world is changing at breakneck speed and needs graduates equipped with the power of a liberal arts education more than ever. When you think about how quickly technology is evolving and transforming our society into a global village, you can see how creativity, critical thinking, flexibility, adaptability, and cross-cultural competencies are necessary for our students to flourish—in their chosen vocations and as informed and engaged citizens.
This new reality raises challenging questions. How do you prepare students for jobs that do not yet exist, driven by technologies not yet invented, to solve increasingly complex and multifaceted challenges? The answer is a well-rounded, liberal arts education from the College. The world truly needs our graduates.
To fully deliver on the promise of a 21st–century liberal arts education, we need to be even more nimble to continue driving a culture of innovation, discovery, and collaboration in the arts and sciences.
Your support of the College—no matter the amount—is crucial. Your gifts to the College Fund enable us to take advantage of opportunities that arise throughout the academic year to enrich the educational experience of our students.
Please know your College Fund gift today is much needed and much appreciated. On behalf of the College, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your geneosity.
