Kluge-Ruhe Readies for Largest-Ever Aboriginal Art Exhibition Outside Australia

Since John W. Kluge donated his collection to UVA 20 years ago, the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection has become America’s most prominent, permanent platform for Aboriginal art. Now it is preparing for its largest national exhibition.

‘Double Hoo’ Awards Power Undergrad-Grad Student Research Pairs

This summer, pairs of University of Virginia student researchers will examine corrosion in aluminum alloys, probe the social and economic impact of large urban development in the Middle East and develop new therapies for multiple sclerosis.The University has awarded 20 “Double Hoo” research awards, which fund pairs of undergraduate and graduate students who collaborate on research projects. Each project is awarded up to $6,000 toward research expenses, plus $500 to compensate a faculty mentor.

An accomplished trumpet player, Rachel Duncan has performed professionally with orchestras in the United States and Scotland. A native of Plymouth, Minnesota, she was awarded a full tuition scholarship in 2003 to study at the Curtis Institute of Music.
